Install help on Synology

Postby plakey » Sat Jul 04, 2015 7:43 pm

I don't understand how to install ickstream on Synology disk station. When I go to LMS Plug ins there is no place to enter a new repository. Can someone help me? Thank you! :D

Not sure if this matters, but have you ticked "show all 3rd party plugins" option?

As far as I can tell from the wiki, the repository is installed via the web interface for LMS, not the device (in this case Squeezebox Touch). Since my LMS is running on a NAS and not a computer per se, I'm technically installing this on the NAS. The instructions are very vague. The screen shot of the place to install the repository does not exist on my LMS interface. :?

Correct. This is installed via LMS and its Settings > Plugins page. I'm not sure why you're not seeing the bottom of the plugins page where one adds repositories. I wonder if it is as simple as the display of the computer your using to view the LMS is not capturing the bottom of the page? Not sure.

you're missing a bunch of the bottom half of that screen. Try looking at the LMS > Settings web view from a different computer or a different web browser (firefox vs chrome vs safari vs explorer, etc.) For example, here's the bottom of my LMS > Settings > Plugins screen.

I tried all 3 browsers. Same view.

How do I make sure I'm viewing 3rd party plug ins? Is there a way to check?

do you see the picture I linked above? It has a "3rd party plugin" item. If I clicked to expand this I'd see a dozen or more plugin options for adding? Your picture doesn't show any of this info at the bottom, which is the problem because you can't add the repositories or see other 3rd party plugin info for installing. Not sure why.

Yes, that version should allow you to see the settings (as illustrated in my linked picture earlier). *any* version of LMS going way back would show the options of ticking show all 3rd party plugins and adding additional repositories.
