No Sound playing Ickstream clients

Postby Cvj » Sat Nov 29, 2014 7:24 pm

I upgraded to the latest official LMS 7.7.5 Nov 27 on my Win XP box. The Ickstream app is installed and I am logged in to all clients except Tidal.

I am using iPeng 8 to control a Touch and a Boom.

When I select any one of the streams from the Ickstream app, everything except the volume works "as advertised". The stream starts and the iPeng counter is running.

I suspect that the problem is with the LMS version 7.7.5.

I had success with one of the previous versions of LMS , but can't remember if that was an official or unofficial version.

I also had an (unrelated) problem with the iPeng volume using LNS 7.7.4....

Do you get any errors in the LMS server.log file ?
You will find it in LMS Settings/Advanced/Logging.

Logs would be helpful, and if you have the time you could try with 7.7.3 or 7.7.4 and see if it works with a previous version to see if it's related to 7.7.5
You can download previous versions from here:

Erland,

Yes, one error, viz.

_players_ error (146) Unable to get players: Connect timed out: The requested name is valid and was found in the database, but it does not have the correct associated data being resolved for. - please check your proxy configuration (http=127.0.0.1:8887;https=127.0.0.1:8887;)

In my LMS/Advanced/Ickstream/Proxied streaming for hires services I have "enabled" selected.
If I instead select "disabled", I still get the same error message as above.

It "appears" from the log error messages (as far as I can understand - not being familiar with the lingo) that ickstream wants to use a proxy server setting 127.0.0.1:8887 and that conflicts with the default proxy server setting on my XP box of 127.0.0.1:9000

I have no idea of how to resolve this port conflict. If I go into Windows Internet LAN settings and change the proxy port from 9000 to 8887, then I can no longer access my Buffalo Airstation or for that matter the internet.

Any suggestions will be welcome.

Some limited success...

After deleting LMS 7.7.5 completely - then re-installing it I was able to get the ickstream clients to stream without any Port conflicts.

But after some 20 minutes of listening/switching between the various ickstream client.. the server developed problems.

Here is the latest log file:

I have restarted the PC and restarted LMS - but stll no joy.

Any ideas?
